Birth card tradition

Dear little soul

As you may already know, there's a tradition here in the Netherlands for parents to announce the birth of their child not through the newspaper, but by sending a card, with the baby's birth details, and inviting people over to admire the baby, when and where.

We are doing the same thing, (although we won't be having guests pop by immediately as we want to get to know you first!). We found the perfect person to design our card: Soul Friend Emmy. She is an artist and a graphic designer ... but we can't say anything more about the card except that it's beautiful and when I saw the design for it, I had to cry. (From happiness of course!)

The anticipation of meeting you gets greater and greater!

In the meantime, I busy myself with making the envelopes ready with addresses and stamps ... Soul Friend Emmy doesn't know your name yet, or when you'll be born or how long or heavy you'll be, so we will print the card up and pop it in the post as soon as we can - after you arrive!

We hope you like the birth card - it's a lovely memento for the parents and families and friends. I think I'll always do the birth card, wherever I live. It really helps prepare for the coming of a really special person.

And it's a way for the family in Australia to see the tradition, to be part of this magnificent experience, as I hope this blog is as well.

much love

your Soul Mama
