Birdland

Dear little Milo

You've been almost everywhere in your new house. You'll see that your Soul Mama and Papa love birds.

In the living room.
These are little black birds made of blackboard material and we chalked Milo's name on them. Couldn't find anywhere else to hang them, so they're under the telly!
This string of owls we bought somewhere in France on our big trip. These are now hanging on a lamp in the lounge.

A modern cuckoo clock!
A tree for the wall, with its residents.
Even above the piano some birdie keeps me company
And when we do the dishes

These aren't birds, but they fly. Butterflies accompany us up the stairs, alongside stars and bubbles.
The bedroom has birds in it (they're very small, but they're sitting the cherry blossom branches above the bed).

Even a hummingbird can be found on the way up to attic amongst the bamboo!

Your birth announcement card had to have birds on it. To us, birds represent freedom, lightness and independence. These are things we wish for you. And they are based on the colourful galahs of Australia, native birds of the place where your Soul Mama and Papa met. We fell in love during a sunset, and ever since then we have been blessed.
So birds now adorn the entrance to our house.
and your bedroom (where you don't yet sleep, but will in a year or so).
Love

Your Soul Mama and Papa
