Dear little soul
I bought these two books on an Amazon impulse (I have them regularly, as I don't have the privilege of browsing at length in English language bookshops over here).
This one by Chris Haughton made me cry.
This one by Deborah Underwood and illustrated by Renata Liwska made me make weird cooing and squawking noises.
Luckily it was just you and me when I read them the first time, because I was a bit embarrassed about both the crying and the strange vocal accompaniments ...
You won't cry when you have them read to you, will you? You'll just love the pictures and all the details.
Love, your Soul Mama

I had only just read a review on The Quiet Book (and The Loud Book) before reading this post! After reading this post, I went searching for more info on A Bit Lost. I have to buy this!! It sounds so sweet and the illustrations look amazing.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you've started a great book collection for your little soul! I hope s/he loves books as much as we do. Aniek is a bookworm and Elliot's eyes light up when we read, too. Books are so important in life.
I'm sure you've got a big list of books for your little one, but here's a link to a site I often browse:
http://www.mylittlebookcase.com.au
One of the things I love about this site is the book lists. Have a peek if you haven't come across it already and let me know what you think.
And if you'd like to know which books have really resonated with Aniek, and now what Elliot is getting into at 9 weeks old, let me know.
I could talk about books all day long but now I'm off to read Discovery Farm to Elliot!
I'm totally inspired L! Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's your booklist at the moment? Do you have a Dutch one too?
x
I went on that site L and couldn't find th ebooklists ... But I found this link! I can't wait till we can do stuff like this ... I'm sure you can't wait either (or perhaps are already doing it now?)
ReplyDeleteTe link won't copy and paste, but it is the blog entry from 25 June, on www.mylittlebookcase.com.au/featured/activity-afternoon-tea-with-Charlie-and-Lola/
