Today you are one month old, and goodness how that's flown! You are much bigger and stronger than you were when you arrived on 3 July.
Today your Oma and Opa were visiting and held you and talked to you lots! You tried to talk back. You are so alert and so much more content. I think it's because we're all getting to know you better, you're feeding so much better (100% breastmilk! woohoo!), and therefore you rest better. So when you're awake, you are ready to interact and you enjoy the attention. You sort of coo-ed to us all when we held you in our arms. It was really lovely to see. I've noticed that I forget to talk to you sometimes when I'm so deep in concentration of what I am doing or have to do next - feeding, bathing, soothing, changing ... they all require my deepest thinking and reflection and I'm so focused on you that I forget to speak. It was good to see others so open to verbalise contact with you - I'm resolved to do more of it starting tomorrow!
Now you're sleeping like ... a baby. I do miss you when you sleep, but so glad that you are sleeping so well in blocks of hours (rather than the cat naps or no naps that you took a week and a half ago).
Now onto the next month, one full of other beautiful developments I'm sure!
