ONGNAMOGURUDEVNAMO

Dear little soul

This week I started a six-week private pregnancy yoga course with a dear friend and surrogate sister who happens to be a work colleague and coincidentally, a qualified Kundalini yoga teacher too. Handy.

Kundalini yoga is something one rather needs to get used to. I'm doing a course called "Conscious Pregnancy" and most of it (so far) happens while I'm seated and waving my arms about and breathing heavily (that's intentional, not just my terrible fitness level). I also have to say mantras, and whistle, too.

I really like it, and I believe you do as well!

Every morning I do my 10 minutes and I'm less exhausted - in fact, I'm invigorated by the routine. My dear friend and surrogate sister is very disciplined and an excellent energy to work with.

ONGNAMOGURUDEVNAMO is the chant we say to tune into the class. In doing so we invoke the blessings of the Creator and Divine Teacher to be able to receive the highest guidance during the session.

ONG = the Creator
GURU = giver of technology (GU = darkness and RU = light)
DEV = transparent (non-physical)
NAMO = reverent greetings or salutations

There is also a wonderful song that we sing at the end - my dear friend and surrogate sister has incredible lung capacity and a beautiful voice ... I'm hoping I can sing this song so brightly as she - give me a few weeks. The video below is not the version we sing, but I love the imagery and the sentiment.

The Long Time Sun Blessing Song
May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You
All Love Surround You
And the Pure Light WIthin You
Guide Your Way On
Sat Nam

Looking forward to the next 5 Tuesday nights in the babyroom, purposely unfurnished so we three (dear friend/surrogate sister, me and you of course!) can sit in there with our woollen blankets, sheepskin rugs and all dressed in white!

Love your Soul Mama
